Plan 1 - Wolverine Access

This default option automatically opts you into Wolverine Access each semester. Textbooks are bundled into a $250 fixed charge ($150 summer term per block), which is added to your tuition. This charge covers your textbooks for that semester. Any online textbooks will be available via Canvas, and physical textbooks can be picked up at the UVU Store at no additional charge.

When to Consider This Option: If you have several textbooks that would cost MORE than $250, this plan will save you money. It’s also a great option if you want a hassle-free experience and don’t want to source textbooks on your own.

Your Next Steps: Nothing further needs to be done. You are automatically opted into this program each semester.

Plan 2 - Buy Books By Individual Course

The “Selective Access À La Carte” option allows you to choose only the textbooks you want, on a per-title basis. You can purchase only the textbooks you need through UVU, opting out of unnecessary ones. Only the textbooks you select through Selective Access À La Carte will be added to your tuition, potentially saving you money. Textbooks you opt out of will need to be purchased independently through third parties.

When to Consider This Option: If you only need a few textbooks, or if the overall cost of your books is LESS than $250, this option lets you individually select the textbooks you’d like to purchase.

Your Next Steps:
Step 1: Log into Canvas, click Account on the main menu, and select Textbooks and Course Materials.
Step 2: In Textbooks and Course Materials, Switch Programs at the top of the page. *Note, you may need to have the correct term selected to see this.
Step 3: Choose your Textbooks and Course Materials program and confirm your choice.

Plan 3 - Opt Out

Opt out of Wolverine Access or buy books by individual course (Selective Access À La Carte) and purchase all textbooks independently through third parties.

When to Consider This Option: If you prefer to search for and purchase your textbooks independently through other third parties, this option is for you.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: To avoid being charged the UVU textbook fee, you must opt out at the start of each semester before the textbook drop deadline.
